Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Operations Checklists 2022

The Corporate Affairs Commission (“CAC” or the “Commission”) in Nigeria is the government agency responsible for the registration and regulation of companies, businesses, and other corporate entities in Nigeria. It operates under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and is tasked with facilitating business and corporate affairs activities in the country.

The CAC is charged with the administration of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020, including the registration, regulation, and supervision of

  1. the formation, incorporation, management, striking off and winding-up of companies, limited liability partnerships and limited partnerships.

  2. registration, management, and removal of business names from the register, and

  3. formation, incorporation, management, and dissolution of incorporated trustees

The CAC plays a crucial role in promoting transparency, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

The purpose of the Operations Checklists is to provide a practice guide to accredited and non-accredited users of the Commission’s services to enhance seamless transactions with the Commission. The document is designed to facilitate the understanding of the service processes and requirements. The objective is to promote efficient service delivery through process standardization.


Users of the Commission’s services should note that in addition to the requirements of these Operations Checklists, the Commission may, from time to time, issue and publish on its website, social media handles or newspapers further guidelines as circumstances may require to improve the Commission’s service requirements and customer experience.
